Connecting L-Shape Countertops

Is there another way to connect the mitred corners where the countertops connect to make the "L" other than using the mitred bolts? I'm not that up on making the insert that the bolts lay in. Any suggestion?

not that i know of, you do need to glue the joint before you use the miter clamps , but thats the way there all installed
