Pain & Suffering

I have been asked to provide the insurance company with a dollar amount to cover my pain & suffering in order to come to a settlement amount. I am at a complete loss as to what to ask for and was wondering if there was an unspoken average to start with.

Try and work out what you have had to deal with or lose out on. While you were in pain you must have had extra costs to pay, medical, time of work, trips to hospital/doctors, loss of extra earnings. add it all up and add more on, it also depends on how much suffering. When I got hit in the face in the city and got my jaw broken, I was given approx $8000 but i was suffering for weeks and couldnt eat, speak and had many appointments with the hospital. Obviously if it was for a loss of limb etc it would be more. Hope this may help a little for you.
