companies that provide renters insurance for a pit bull
I am looking for an insurance company who will cover a rental and the renter has a pit bull. We are in atlanta, ga and I am the owner of the house. Thanks

You have to call an insurance agency that carries multiple lines and ask.

Policies also vary from State to State - a friend of mine just got refused because she has a German Shepherd. She was told the company won't insure Shepherds, Rotts and Dobbies. No mention of pits - and they even sent her a letter confirming the three breeds.

For many companies it's not necessarily the breed but a matter of if the dog has ever bitten someone. Tell your tenant that a good place to start would be with their auto insurance carrier to see if they will cover a pit bull owner.

By the way, I think it's very smart to require your tenants to carry renter's insurance.
