Car Accident

Hi everyone,

My husband and I were involved in a car accident and the insurance company is ready to offer a settlement. Our medical bills totalled $3k, car repair $5k, and rental car $500. They've already taken care of the rental car and car repair. Approximately what is a fair settlement for us?

Odds are they're just going to pay whatever is the total of the bills. Insurance companies don't like having to pay out.

If your injuries are going to require additional treatment, then perhaps you should speak with an attorney.

Was there lost work, have you figured milage for medical care.
Is there any additional medical needs. Have you figured the lower value of the car resale value.

There is no formula - you should be made whole for all the expenses and losses resulting from the accident as well as pain and suffering (if you had pain and suffering).
