We are freezing to ice cubes here, please someone help us with an answer. We lite the pilot on our Carrier system just as the instructions on the panel say to do, but when we turn it to on nothing happens. The blower blows cool air. The burners are not lighting inside. Last year you could hear them light before the blower started. What is wrong? Please help.

Are the burners trying to light at all when you ask the system to call for heat. There is a sequence of operation to a furnace. Where the sequence fails is where the problem lies. Your problem could be as simple as a dirty oriphace. If the thermal couple is dirty it cannot send the7 millivolts to the gas valve to tell it to close to allow the burners to lite. I hope this was helpful.
