usa border crossing

im a metis i have a status card ,,my quistion is i tryed cross the usa border and was refused enter ,,,they said i did'nt look indain and it might be a fake card,,,i have documents going back 13 generations my mom birth card her statis card and my brothers to my mom and brothers are a photo copy of them ,,,i just want to know why i was refused entry,,,,i do have a criminal record 27 years ago ,,i went to the corts the records was destoyed ,,,my sentice was theft of over 400 dollars and i was fined 400 dollars ,,but i thought i could cross the border with y statis card and icould not be deported at all ,,so if you ould help me out please do ,,im going to aply for a passport cuz mine has run out a couple of months ago will this help me out having a passport ,,,oh ya i've been crossing the border for almost 40 years know ,,,thanks for your time ,, **** email deleted FC

Regulations have been changed during these years, better get yourself a passport.

In the past year and then for the several years before, entry into the US is getting tighter and tighter. ** plus some agents are toughter than others.

You will need a passport to enter into the US in most cases, Beyond that, you can discuss the issue at the embassy.
