Spanish Citizenship by marriage

Dear Madam/Sir

I know that while applying for Spanish citizenship from Marriage method you should provide the document that shows you have been in Spain for one year.

I have lived in Spain for one year as a student and of course legally. Now I have come abroad to Finland to work and am wondering if I marry my Spanish girlfriend who lives there, will that one year of living in Spain count for me to get my citizenship? or I have to live in Spain one year after being married?

Thanks for your help and support,
Shahram Etemadi
