I am hoping someone out there can help me with my question. I was born in England but moved to South Africa when I was 3. I lived in South Africa for over 20 years and obtained my South African passport. I am now back working and living in the UK and have been here for over 5 years. I have both UK and SA passports but my SA passport is about to expire. I was completing the forms for a new one and read that I need a letter from the British Home Office confirming that I have not acquired British Citizenship - this would not really apply as I was born here. Now that I have lived here for over 5 years will I loose my SA citizenship? I would like to move back to South Africa in about 2/3 years with my new husband (who is also South African) and don't want to loose my citizenship.

Any advice or helpful information?
