    Pay declaration fee to immigration $600
    My girlfriend sent copy of visa here, and now says airport in ghana told her she needs to pay additional $600 declaration fee to immigration , leave ghana, africa is it true?

    My girl friend has a passport and visa and went to klm airlines to get ticket and now says she needs an additional $600 for declaration money for immigration to leave her country and now can't get ticket till she pays the additional money. Is it true she needs to pay this money in ghana africa?

    This is not a girl friend, it is a person you found online and she is telling you she is coming here, I will assume you have sent her money for a ticket, a passport fee, and most likely another fee or two. I bet she even mailed you a copy of her passport and visa.

    No this is not true, contact the Ghana embassy here in the US or contact the US ebassy there.

    Also if your plan is for her to come here and marry, you do understand that the US INS has rules requiring you to have visited her in her nation for this relationship to be proper for her immigration status if she is to stay here in the US.

    This is one of the biggest currect frauds going on right now, and they have a dozen reasons for you to send just a little more money, and then they you never hear back after you send no more money

    Don't do it.. STOP NOW.. I am currently helping a friend who has gotten burned about the so CALLED declaration fee to immigration.. they are now out over $3000.00 this is the number one scam in Ghana.. If you met this person on line through dating services be aware of the posed pictures. There is a site that you can go to for imposters on the web and see if your girlfriends pic is actually listed there. Here is the site Romance Scam: Database of Russian and Nigerian scammers. Hey I know it hurts because she tells you she really loves you!! (LET IT GO)!! And watch DATELINE they are always doing stories on imposters and internet fraud.. Good LUck!

    You need to contact the embassy or consulate. Do you know this girl in person or you just met her on line? That sounds like a scam to me...

    Definitely a scam, there is a permanent post about this at the top of the visas and passports thread.

    He may be real, but the letter is a scam. Very common.
