I have a friend in Brazil who is trying to obtain a EU passport.

So far she has managed to obtain her Portuguese birth certificate as her paternal grandmother was born in Portugal. She is now waiting for her Portuguese ID, which has apparently been sitting in the Consulate in Sao Paulo for several weeks now, waiting to be dispatched?

Her dilemma is whether to stay in Brazil and wait for the ID and EU Passport, or whether it would be quicker for her to travel to Portugal on her Brazilian passport to achieve the same result.

She is desperate to get back to the UK as she is engaged to a British boy and also because she is a qualified teacher and wants to start working and earning money here.

What would be her best option please? Any help and advise you can give would be very much appreciated.
