Have i still got the right to get a portuguese passport?

Hiya, i really need your help if you can.

Right, my dad's father was a portuguese and his mum a cap verdian. My dad then had a portuguese passport but gave it up as He immigrated in USA and is now an american citizen.
I wanted to know if there was any way for me to get the portuguese passport as i have portuguese blood even if my dad have given it up, how long will it take and what do i need to provide for this.
