Biometrics mean having your fingerprints made by livescan. You will get a notification with instructions on where, when to go, what to bring, etc. Timing is uncertain, sometimes 3-4 weeks after mailed in application, sometimes 4-6 weeks, etc.

It really depends on the documents that you have sent and the processing center. I have applied for EAD for almost 5months back still waiting on them.Good luck to you
