L1 Visa / Can i sail in cargo vsls (shorter duration)

Hi

Iam a Software engineer providing solutions for the Shipping Industry.
Iam a foreign national (Indian) and came here to US on L1 Visa.

Can i sail in the cargo vsls with my L1 visa or i have some to do some other visa..

If sailing allowed, is it restricted to US coastal waters or foreign waters.

advise.
