immigration, shoplefting
Hi,
I have the same issue as Safa with the exception that I have done my fingr print for naturalization. I have to go for interview in June 25, and my court would be at July 11.
So my interview is before my court. I have just got a citation from the police regarding misdemoner shoplifting.
Any idea what shall I do in the court?

What do you mean what you will do in court? Are you asking if this could affect your green card application?

It sort of depends if they have already run your criminal record for you immigration paperwork they may not see the arrest, however you should probably mention it. You might be contacted at a later date if found guilty of the shoplifting charges and have your green card revoked.

USCIS has access to many important database including DOJ's. So the first rule is you must disclose all info to immigration. Do not lie, ever!

Lying for immigration benefits = deportation with no appeal

Go to the court with your defense lawyer... even it's small case but when immigration issue is involved, you need one.
