Immigration marriage

my boyfriend is in prison. i talked with his caseworker today they told me that he had a detainer on him for immigration that when it is time for him to get out of jail they will send him with immigration to go to court with them and they will decide if the will deport him or not. If we have a son together does that mean anything?? WIll it help if we get married??
