I'm a Canadian Immigrant residing in India for the past 2 years. I was pregnant with my 1st child when I came to India in July 2001. I couldn't go back due to health problems. When my Baby was old enough to travel, my passport expired and the authorities took nearly 10 months to issue a new passport. My husband (he's also a Canadian Immigrant) came back from US (he had H1 visa) to india on Jan 2002. Now, he's working in Saudi Arabia and he's also not visited Canada since Jan 2002.Now, I want to take my baby to Canada, but I don't know how to go about it. If I try to get a visiting visa for her, I can't show any financial background in Canada as I'm living in India for the past 2 years. Even my husband cannot do that, as he's working in Saudi Arabia. I cannot leave my daughter (she's 20 months old) in India and go to Canada alone. advise what I should do? How do I approach the Canadian Consulate at New Delhi, and what documents do I take with me. help me asap as I have to go before Dec 31st 2003.
