Having L1 stamped and H1 approval.

A friend of mine has a valid L1 Visa (for Employer A) that is stamped and already travelled to the US in 2006. He is now in India. L1 Visa is valid till 2009. Meanwhile, he has applied for a fresh H1 on Apr 2nd, 2007 (for Employer B) and is waiting for approval.

Even if H1 is approved, the validity will start from October 1st, 2007. In the meanwhile, can he travel to the US under L1 on June 30th and work for Employer A (L1) until September 30th 2007 and join Employer B from October 1st 2007 under H1.

Will there be any legal hassles if he travels to US under L1 with a H1 approval? Please advise.
