H4 Tax id number

I am on H1B visa, my wife is here on H4, how should i apply for tax identification number
for her and what are the documents required for the procedure.

You can fill W7 form for getting the TIN no..You can gt that form from internet but you need to fill your 1040 or 1040NR and send that to IRS at their PHL address.

Mjay : I AM ON H1b and my spouse is on h4b , i know W7 form for getting the TIN no..
but what is 1040 NR ,what is IRS and their PHL address..
