h4, EAD, student and financial assistance

My wife is in H4 visa. Right now, she is applying for EAD with concurrent I140/I485 filings. Also, she plans to go to School for a graduate degree. According to my understanding, she can not receive any financial assistance from the school if she is on H4 visa. Am I right? After she receives the EAD, is she able to get financial assistance from the school while in H4 status? Thanks
