H1b stamping Taxes

Hi,
Dear sir I am on OPT and going for my H1B stamping from Elpaso mexico in June 2007. I have all my supporting documents for H1b but I dont have my previous years tax returns saved. I have been paying taxes since 2004.
I also made an other mistake during my tax filing which is I submitted 1040 online because I had less time left instead of filing 1040NR.
I want to ask you if its going to effect my case. I work for a college and my field is chemistry. I am worried that my case has will be delayed or something
please advise me about this and suggest me what should I do if the ask me for this years tax documents. Also do they have if the immigratin people have a record of our tax return?
