Exempt to Non Exempt H1

Hi,I am on H1 visa with a non profit organisation,i want to move to profit organisation so i applied for New H1 under 20,000 quotaon April 1 ,2007 can I start working for that company now, as I am in US.I may finish my job with non profit organisation may be in June..How can I maintain status from June,07 till Oct,07 if I cannot work for the New H1 compnay..Please do give suggestions..

Hi Exempt to Non Exempt H1,

You will be not be able to begin working before October since that is when the H1 cap begins. I hope you made it into 2008 cap since it was filled on the first day of filings, Apr 2, the earliest ever.
