i can go outside from uk while having a settlement visa?

hi
i m on settlement visa with my family here.and my dad is a british national.i want to ask u a question that my visa is for 2 years and after that i have to apply for unlimited leave to remain.during this period of 2 years can i go outside from uk? and for how much long i can stay out? and or it can effect if i go outside from uk during these 2 years of settlement visa while applying for unlimited leave to remain?
