I am in the United States Army stationed in England. My brother is 24 years old. I would very much like to have him come out to live with me in England while he works on writing a book. I am fully capable of supporting him during this time and intend to do so.

Can I make him my dependent in order to get him a long enough VISA to stay longer than six months?

Is there a way to get him a VISA to stay showing I can foot the bill? In my research I found there is a VISA for same sex partners but I didn’t see anything for brothers or other kinds of non-sexual family members. My Brother called and spoke to someone at UK Immigration who told him that he would have to apply for dependency on me in the United States. He is currently here on a tourist VISA.

Is there a way I can get my brother to live here for more than six months at a time? How long does someone have to stay out of the Country after the six month tourist VISA is up?

Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. At this point I would be willing to pay a service to have someone help me sort this out.
