heard this on the radio this morning
an old cat arrives in heaven to be met by God, who says, "You've been a good cat your whole life, tell me what it is you've always wanted?" "Ooh", says the cat. I was poor my whole life and only ever had wooden chairs and wooden floor boards to sleep on. "Say no more!" said God, and produced a soft luxurious cushion for the tired old cat to sleep on.
The next day nine mice arrived in heaven who were also met by God. "You've all been such good mice," said God, "tell me what you've always wanted?" "Oh! Oh! Oh!" they all said. "We've been chased our whole lives by farmers, cats, and hysterical women with brooms. We're tired of running everywhere and would love some roller skates." "Of course!" said God, "say no more!" and handed each little mouse two pairs of rollers skates. It made him smile to hear their squeals of delight as he watched them disappear happily into the distance.
A few days later God checked in on the old cat. "How do you like it here in heaven?" he asked the cat. "Ohhhh" purrred the old cat, as it gave a giant yawn and had a big stretch. "It's wooonderful" he said, "and the meals on wheels you keep sending by are
delicious!"
