When I Ask for a Permanent Position?

I'm in a 12-week internship program. It will end in December.

1. My question is ... When will it be the BEST time to ask whether I'll get a permanent position or not?

If I don't get anything from this company, I'd have to look for internships/permanent positions opening in January, and to do this I'll HAVE TO start applying in NOVERMBER.

This is a small industry and people tend to know each other, so I thought It'd be awkward if I say to HR and my supervisors that I really want to work here (which I REALLY do) and BE FOUND later that I was applying to SOMEWHERE else.

2. I mean ... if these must be simultaneously done, then should I say to my current HR that I'm interested in applying to company XYZ? HE ACTUALLY KNOWS THEM ... HAD WORKED FOR THEM MORE THAN 10 YEARS ...

3. or ... When I'm applying to the company XYZ .. should I put my current company ON MY RESUME? (If I do, I'm 99% sure THEY will contact my current HR).
