Filing unemployment

Living in FL, should I apply for unemployment here or in New Jersey where my employer is? When you get unemployment can you still work parttime?

You can work while you are drawing unemployment. Your benefits will drop if you work but you will still draw some. If you are working and drawing unemployment you must claim the amounts you are earning when you send in your weekly claim.

An unemployment insurance claim is filed against the state where you worked, not where you live.

If you worked in New Jersey you would file with the New Jersey Department of Workforce Development.

Department of Labor and Workforce Development | Unemployment Insurance

This is the link to the site where the Unemployment Information is available.

If I can help further please let me know.

Shirley
