Can anyone tell me if there is a universal remote for a garage door?

I found 1 Truly? Universal, had choice of 3 frequencies and the ability to learn or duplicate codes. Probably over 90-90% of receivers.
Do you need one for a certain brand?

Thank you. It's a Sears Craftsman, but an older model. Probably over 10 years old

Worse case, just replace remote and transmitter.
