If you have your tv connected to a cable or satellite box check to see if your cable or satellite box is set to the right format speed (480i, 480p, 720i or 1080i).
If your tv is connected to either your satellite or cable box using composite cables (red, white and yellow) or the S-Video cables the formatting should be set to 480i. This setup wil not work using these cables and a higher format speed. If using component cables (red, blue and green) or HDMI or DVI cables use one of the higher formatting sizes (480p, 720i or 1080i) and see if this corrects your problem. Good luck.

What are you trying to view when this occurs? A DVD? cable TV from a box? cable TV from the built-in tuner? Satellite dish?

If its any device that plugs into the video input jacks on the TV (e.g. dvd player, cable box, etc.), follow slim44's suggestion.

If its cable from the built-in tuner, you may have auto-tune channels set to a channel not supported by the cable company.
