    Hook up of Satellite,Tv,DVD recorder
I have a Toshiba 51 projection TV hooked up to a Star Choice Satellite system. I want to hook up a vcr & dvd recorder. I have s-system cables, component cables(red blue green) and rca (yellow red white) cables to do the hook up but cannot figure it out.I did have a dvd/vhs recorder combo unit working with this TV & Sat Dish but the hook up is different.?
    Thanks

I'll tell you how my system is setup which may help you. I have a digital cable settop box. My TV has several inputs as does my DVD/VHS recorder. I split the cable signal with one end going into the settop box and the other end going into the antenna input on the TV. I then run an out line from the settop box to the recorder. From there I component cables to the component input on the TV.

    Wallybear,

Let's start by finding out what you need.

Is your TV a High Def TV? If it is not, the component video cables (RGB) will not be necessary. The Composite cables (Yellow, Red and White) supply Video via Yellow and audio through Red and White. By "S-system" do you mean S-video"?

S-Video gives you a better image than composite video but no where near component video.

The way I hook up systems is to take the output of the dish and run it to the DVR/VCR Input. If the Input on the DVR is only by S-Video or composite, I use S-video and the Red and White wi8res. Yellow is not attached.

However, if the Dish controller is capable of RGB or HDMI connections and My DVR can also accept either, I choose them. Then, If the TV also accepts RGB or HDMI connections, I use them from the DVR to the TV. The last options I uses is S-video or composite.
