| Wallybear,
Let's start by finding out what you need.
Is your TV a High Def TV? If it is not, the component video cables (RGB) will not be necessary. The Composite cables (Yellow, Red and White) supply Video via Yellow and audio through Red and White. By "S-system" do you mean S-video"?
S-Video gives you a better image than composite video but no where near component video.
The way I hook up systems is to take the output of the dish and run it to the DVR/VCR Input. If the Input on the DVR is only by S-Video or composite, I use S-video and the Red and White wi8res. Yellow is not attached.
However, if the Dish controller is capable of RGB or HDMI connections and My DVR can also accept either, I choose them. Then, If the TV also accepts RGB or HDMI connections, I use them from the DVR to the TV. The last options I uses is S-video or composite. |
