I have a system in my 97 2dr ford explorer;Alpine deck, 1 4-farat power acoustik audio cap, 2 12in audiobahn Flame Q Subs: 1100 watts RMS, and 4000 watt Lanzar Vibe286 Amplifier. But my problem is I want it louder! So I was took it to a local stereo shop and they looked at my amp and told me right away that the amp more then likely was rated higher than it really was. Thus checking the fuses in the amp there where only 2 35 amp fuses which indicated that if it was really 4000 watts there would more likely be say 4 40amp fuses or something close to that? Would you recommend anything that may be more in my league without spending a fortune on a new amp? I WANT TO BE HEARD!! :D

You got to be careful here. Even though its MARKETED as a 4000W amp. Is this 4000W rms continuous? Or 4000W instantenous peak? Big difference.

Read the manual before changing fuses. 35A fuses are there for a reason. SAFETY. Sure you can put 40A in there, but you run the risk of overheating, worst yet, it might catch fire, or cause nearby parts to catch fire.

What are the specs on the amp? If your subs are 4 Ohms each, wire them in parallel, that will give you 2 ohm impedance. Bridge the amp to run mono. If the amp can drive 2 ohms in bridged mode, then you can get a little more "juice" to the subs.

Remember: Safety first. Read users manual.
