Bush Internet tv; remote control activation

hey i have a Bush internet tv, and i need to activate the remote control again (just for changing the channel), as the batteries ran out. i remember having to hold in some of the buttons for an amount of time, and i was hoping someone might know the specifics or be able to direct me to somewhere i can find them?they are in the instruction manual, however i dont have that at my current address. any help would be much appreciated!

You have to hold down left arrow, down arrow (I think - if not, up arrow), and right arrow together, then the number 1 key, for 5 seconds

I can't get this to work, do i have to hold all of these down at the same time? or the number 1 after the arrows? Thanks
