Working from a Council house

Hi,

I am currently thinking of starting my first business working from home. However, not ever having had my own business before I am not quiet sure where to start.

I have over 20 years legal secretarial experience and have recently found out there is a need for home typists for barristers in the North West. My question is, I live in a Council house (recently taken over by One Vision Housing), is it possible to work from home? Do i need permission? What extra cover/insurance etc will I need?
