how to fix a crocheted afghan

i have a crocheted afghan that my mother had made. apparently, one row was poor quality yarn and has broken is several places. can anyone help me figure out how to crochet it back together and make it look right? i know there has to be a trick to it, but i can't seem to get it right. thanks

It depends on what stitch she used....you could always tie those places in knots..

the stitch is a single crochet. i have it close but not right yet. trick is to have the yarn incorporate with the next line of thread. thanks but i don't think knots are the way to go here....
