Hi, I am writing a paper for a class and need to know who it was that made the atomic bomb and then later stated that he regreted it?

In November 1954, five months before his death, Albert Einstein summarized his feelings about his role in the creation of the atomic bomb: "I made one great mistake in my life... when I signed the letter to President Roosevelt recommending that atom bombs be made; but there was some justification - the danger that the Germans would make them."

*** (personal note) Now he actually only provided the ideas that allowed the bomb to be made, he did not actually do the bomb research from my understanding.

Here are two more physicists who later regretted their contributions

Perhaps J Robert Oppenheimer (1904-1967) He was the director of the Manhattan Project, and was known as "The father of the Atomic Bomb". He lamented the weapons killing power after it was used to destroy two Japanese cities. Eventually his security clearance was revoked.

I think that Oppenheimer along with Einstein created the Atomic bomb for the use of Hiroshima and Nagasaki... This was called the Manhatten Project...
