Tulsi aarti

HI,

I want to know about Tulsi aarti. When we do aarti on Sunday, we do 'Om jai jagdish hare' aarti, and also Tulsi aarti after. What I want to know is, that when doing aarti, we move the diva clockwise to the deity that we are worshiping. When doing Tulsi aarti, and doing aarti in our small temple at home, we can not place a tulsi plant in the temple. Is it proper to motion the diva clockwise to Lord Vishnu / Mata Lakshmi, as Mata Lakshmi is the ultimate form of Tulsi mata?
