experience hinduism

I am looking for information about attending a Hindu festival, ceremony, or religious ritual as part of a world religions class paper. Unfortunately I'm from Oklahoma and there are few choices for non-Christian religions. I have checked out many sites online to no avail and would like to get some substantial info asap. Everywhere I checked showed no activities for this late in the year. Any information or advice given would be greatly appreciated

Hindus just celebrated Diwali recently, their new year with lights and fireworks.
