If your school votes to have them, they are.

I have found that a persons dress has alot to do with behavior, and also the way you are treated by others, I have tried this by dressing in different ways and going into vaious stores, it is a obvious difference.

By doing away with status items of dress and gang items of dress, it can make for a safer school enviorment

I disagree with Fr Chuck in that school uniforms can make the school environment safer.

While perhaps in SOME schools that might be true, not all.

For Example: The public high school I went to.

We did not have school uniforms, and there were no teasing or people caring what kind of clothes other people wore.

The school environment where I went would NOT have changed if we had school uniforms.

If your school requires them, then yes. Uniforms do not prevent education and often help promote discipline which is a requirement for learning. Learning to follow rules you may not understand or agree with is vital for your future success as you will find out. Unless of course you like minimum wage jobs.

it's safer for some kids because other pupils would bully the person even more..
but.. i dont think schools have uniforms because of that..

but it really depends from pupil to pupil and from school to school
