    Why do the air ducts make a pounding noise after the heat shuts off
    What causes a banging noise in the ducts after the furnace shuts off and how can I fix this?

    The sheet metal is under stress from expansion and contraction. Usually a cross break is put in the sheet metal to help stop the noise.
