First of all, what type of heat do you have (gas, oil, heat pump)?
What wire colors do you have & to what terminals are they connected at the furnace (or air handler)?
Hi. This is Aaron Moratalla from White Rodgers. If you have a typical heating and cooling system then you should use at least 4 wires. Industry has Yellow wire to Y, Red to R, Green to G and White to W or W2 in your 1F89-0211. If you have a heat pump unit then you should have a fifth wire that goes to O/B terminal that could Blue or Orange. C and L terminals are both optional. Should you need further assistance please don't hesitate to call our Tech Line at 800-284-2925. Thank you for choosing White Rodgers!
Aaron,
Thank you for your input & welcome aboard. We get a fair number of questions about White-Rodgers stats & gas ignition controls. Sometimes we can find help on your site, sometimes not. Please hang around. I'm sure we'll put you to good use. ;)
BTW, I don't like the new site as well as I did the old. Cross reference materials were a lot easier to find on the old.
