    What could cause black soot to come out of my vents from a new heat pump furnace?
    I have a new heat pump furnace... and black soot is everywhere in my condo... what could cause this?

    If the ducts were not cleaned before the new unit was installed the disturbance of the duct during the new install might have knocked a bunch of old dirt/debris loose allowing to to flow into your condo. All else is guess work but you could take a sample and have it analysed somewhere.
