Water Rushing through baseboard heat pipes

We have a Weil Mclain Gold Oil furnace that is approximately four years. The furnace generates heat through our hotwater baseboard heat pipes. Lately we hear the sound of rushing water in the pipes. In the past we have heard banging when the system is cold and heating up, but this is something new.

Any idea what this is and how to fix it?

Both banging and "rushing water" sounds are signs of air in your lines. Depending on the system, you may have small bleeder valves at the ends of your radiators. These are opened, generaly with a small key and the air is bled out until just water is present. If there are no bleeder valves present you may have an air removal system at the boiler. This is usually found directly above a small tank (about 12") These are meant to be automatic, but can sometimes get plugged with sediment or other debris. Check the top of this device for an air valve like you would find on your car tire and make sure it operates freely.
