    Types of air handlers?
Can you use any Goodman air handler for a trailer house or does it have to be one that is specially rated for hign static pressure?

I have see different answers to this question. Some will say that you need the unit to have a high static rate and others will say that the newer electric air handlers for standard homes will work with no problem.

To all of this I say FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURES DIRECTIONS. If a unit is NOT listed for use in a mobile home I would not use it. If it says it is OK to use in a mobile home then it will be OK.

I answer this way since I have not called Goodman Manufacturing and asked them if there unit is OK to install in a mobile home. Goodman might tell you to do a duct calculation to calculate exactly what you will need.

In a stick built home the supply duct is much larger and more free flowing than in a older mobile home and that is what causes the difference in the static pressure to start with. If it was my mobile home I would not have a problem with using a Goodman electric air handler because I have the tools and meter equipment to test the system after the install so I could make any corrections necessary. But the average person or installer may not have the proper tools and equipment to make sure the unit operates in the factory designed temperature curve and that is usually where the problems come to play.

Now if it was a customers mobile home I would NEVER install a piece of equipment that was not designed to be used in a mobile home for obvious reasons.
