Thermostat Changeover

I am changing over from a Trane Baystat 239 to a White-Rodgers 1F79-111. Could you please list the correct wiring procedure. Thanks.

Read and follow directions

Also see attached diagram. It is possible for the old bay stats to be wired differently the diagram (LOOK under GE bay on list). It has the color code change over all there. NOTE if you have a T terminal of wire it will not be used on your new thermostat. Just tape off and do not connect.

All information is here for your changeover. Make sure you mark each wire with a label from where it came off the old thermostat no matter what the color because the important part is where the wire went not the color since some installers have used there own color codes in the past.

Good luck.

racinron agrees: It is working great, thanks. The only open lug is the L, not sure which wire goes there, if any.
