    Summer/Winter Furnace Switches
    Hello,

I have a older model Bryant furnace which has a switch box attached to it that has 2 switches, one that says "Summer only" and another "Winter only". Currently these switches are both at the "on" position. I have alreasy started my furnace for the winter and the furnace works when called upon with no issues. My question is, Since the furnace has been producing heat and ready for the winter, shouldn't the summer switch be turned to the "off" position? Or leave it alone since it is working fine with both switches on " on"

    Thank you in advance

Who knows how it's hooked up, but the purpose of summer and winter is to change the fan speed. A higher speed for the summer to move the cold air.

Who knows, it might not even be hooked up. It's not a good idea to energize both speeds at the same time. If you do, the motor may be using more electricity than it's supposed to.

Check what the fan speed is in summer and winter mode.
