Where is the furnace filter located on Lennox Elec. HP25-311-2P

It is usually located somewhere on the return air side of the unit duct.

I notice that during this cold winter at Edmonton that my gas furnace filters contain a larger amount of a whitish colored ash on the cold air return side of the filter. I would like to know where this ash is coming from. The air quality in the house seems fine so I cannot see how the ash is coming...

I just moved into a beautiful home. I am currently a renter. There is a new concord 80 plus furnace installed. I know it needs a filter but I'm not for sure as to where it goes?
