    Thermostat Help
    I bought a new thermostat and there is a black wire that I am not sure where it goes... Is this needed? HELP! :confused:

    To help further, please let us know:
    What is the t-stat model? How many wires are coming out of your wall, and what colors are they? What wires coming out of your wall were hooked up to your old t-stat?

    In the meantime,
    Your t-stat manual should show you exactly which wires should be hooked up based on what wires you currently have - and were previously using.

    Er- shows up on our thermostat. We have had cold weather... temperatures around 20's. What does the ER mean
