I just here to hear others advice. I install goodmans, they are a low cost furnace, with high efficiency(95%). However, most if not all new furnaces are about the same(reliability and longevity wise). The key here is the installer. Correct installation will make any furnace work great for you. However, it does make sense to pick an installer that has a stock of parts of the furnace you purchase, and will come to your rescue right away if something does go wrong.

Install is basically the same for all of these furnaces. Sheetmetal, gas, vent, drain, electrical. As far as maintenance, most new furnaces do not have oil ports on the motors, so the only reasonable maintenance is checking/changing the filter once a month. Good luck and please let us know what brand you pick and how things work out for you.

Step number one is a manual J heat loss. Proper sizing is the most important step that is normally overlooked during the sales process. Oversizing will reduce the efficiency, increase maintenance and operating costs.
