Try isolating the problem by disconnecting either the contactor or reversing valve solenoid one at a time to find out which one is actually blowing the fuse
-
Sounds like you going to have to put one wire to rc rh and w1 nt sure if that stat willl owkr without a common wire. Some do some don't
-
Where exactly is this reset button?
-
Could be a short in the thermostst wire from the t-stat to the heater, or a control board acting up
-
When the unducer fan motor turns on do your hear the pressure switch click? The pressure switch will be connected to the inducer motor by a rubber hose
-
You unit has probably frozen up due to either being low on freon ,dirty filter, or coil shut unit off for a couplr of hour with just the fan on the on position
-
If it was a bad compressor the fan would come on on its own and the compressor wouldn't, or the unit would throw the breaker immediately, if you don't see any burnt wires its is probably the...
-
That could be any number of problems, is the outside unit running during these "lukewarm" spells? Is the fan on the outside unit running but not the compressor?
-
Either the blue or the black wire has to be used to energize the fan, and one wire will probably be your common. You should check at the heating unit to see which wire goes where.
-
Is the furnace electric heat or gas heat ?
-
A manual reset button should be somewhere on the back of the stat face
-
Check and see if the little rubber hose fron the combustion motor to the pressure switch is clear of debris. The unit will not go to the second stage of operation if this switch doesn't close
-
It could be a relay, a capacitor, or worse case senario the blower motor itself
-
Grandaire equipment is made by nordyne which makes a number of different units frigidare being on of them, if I were you id go with the trane 14 seer if it is within your price range, nordyne is much...

Any where from 200 to 300 dollars
-
I would change the fan limit before I go messing with gas pressure
-
The humidistat would be wired in with a relay which would override the thermostat making the unit run at a lower fan speed until desired humidity setting is reacher(may over shoot set point by a...
-
Most 90% furnaces should be set up to run as a two stage heat furnace
-
Like esquire said, returning it for one with batteries is the easiest way for an inexpierienced person to do
-
I think a simple and cheap humidistat which would be mounted in your return air is the best solution to your problem
-
The units are sized properly for this area, you also have to take into account the ceilings heights, if they are taller than the average 8 feet ceiling you are cooling that much more cubic feet
-
Their should be acode legend on the inside of one of the acces panels of the furnace
-
More than likely a fan relay is stuck
-
Either polarity like corydec said or poor grounding
-
Sometimes you have to undo the gas line and purge the air out of the lines manually, the unit will only attempt to start itself three time before have to be reset
-
Is the fan on the condenser working? If so it could be a number of things. Compressor overheated to due beinbg low on freon, burnt terminal on compressor, compressor locked up and needs hard start...

You can change your outside unit to a heat pump unit
-
If you have horizontal cased coil there should be a baffle behind the coil to stop water from blowing into the plenum. The plate may have fallen down
-
Did you have a problem with a leak before the new unit was installed?
-
Check the emergency pan up in the attic, if the drain clogs up the pan will fill up with water and trip a float switch shutting everything down
-
You probably have a short in your wire going to your outside unit
-
Your fan outside is running but the compressor is probably not
There or numerous reason the compressor won't come on
-
If you use a quality pleated type filter and change it reglarly you shouldn't have to clean you coils at all
-
I jumped out the low pressure switch and I still don't get 12 volts to the clutch
-
I recently purchased a 93 ford ranger the clutch for the air conditionaer won't engage. The low pressure switch checks out good the fuses are good and the relay seems to be working but I am not...
-
The best thing you could do is buy a heated matress cover. Trust me... I've been thetre before and you won't need an once of heat with one of these
About 50 to 70 bucks
-
You might want to make sure your filter and cooling coils are clean also your exchangers and flu pipe. Lack of air flow is the main cause of a limit tripping
-
He means a gas fired packaged unit
-
The unit could possibly going into the defrost cycle which usually happens on the coldest days. When a heat pump goes into defrost cycle the unit automatically switches back into the cooling mode and...
-
I've only seen this switch on trailer units and like labman said all it does is open a damper to the outside air
-
I've seen some house before where there wasn't any space for duct, where they uses foam duct board and lined the joist and the upper floor and closed in the bottom. So that you won't have any leaks...
-
I believe that its just reminder to check your filter
-
The limit switch could be open for something as simple as a dirty filter or cooling coil, or a blickage in the flu pipe

Normally if there is a fuse on a board it is for the 24v transformer. Since your are getting 24v at g and c the fuse is good. I am more than sure that you need to replace the board.
-
If you have voltage across G and C on the furnace and aren't getting any power to the motor the relay on the control board is bad. Unforunatly you can't replace just the relay. The whole board has to...
-
Also with a Heat Pump your coil in the airhandler must be clean. If not the compressor outside could be overheating

If it is the quick connect type I have this problem with them all the time. I just quit installing them all together

You actually have to be epa certified to purchase freon, but a local supply house might find the license good enough
-
