RH230B Wiring

I'm yet another confused owner of a Honeywell RH230B. I'm replacing an old analog Carrier/Honeywell that's wired thusly:
white - white / yellow - yellow / red - red / green - green / and a jumper from yellow to a terminal labeled 1. The 230B matches on everything except the jumper from yellow to 1. Help? For the record Honeywell's help desk is anything but.

Really seems to be a Carrier issue with their stat. May be there is a pilot light on the Carrier stat to indicate the AC is on? Once the stat calls for heat, there is power leaving on the yellow, so something in the stat is looking for power to the compressor.

Connect the wires you have to the Honeywell stat, and everything should be fine.

Thanks - I connected the wires as they were on the old unit - minus the jumper from yellow to 1 - and it seems to be working fine - AC at least, and the fan in auto or on.
